General Ward

The General Ward at MRSH stands as a symbol of compassionate, dignified care for the economically weaker sections of society.

At a nominal charge of just ₹50 per day — the lowest of any hospital, government or private, in West Bengal — patients receive two meals, breakfast, evening tea, milk, linen, oxygen, and round-the-clock nursing care. The actual cost exceeds ₹250 per bed daily, with MRS subsidising nearly ₹1 Crore annually.

Despite the minimal charges, no compromise is made on quality or comfort. Every patient in our General Ward receives the same attentive care and medical supervision as those in premium facilities elsewhere.

Q1. Are services available to everyone?

Yes. MRSH welcomes every patient regardless of caste, creed, religion or financial status. No one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.

Q2. Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome at OPD during working hours. For specific specialist consultations, a prior appointment is recommended.

Q3. What documents should I carry?

Bring a valid ID, previous medical records and your insurance or Swasthya Sathi card if applicable. Emergency cases are attended to immediately without documentation.

Q4. Does MRSH accept insurance cards?

Yes. We accept Swasthya Sathi cards and all major government and private Mediclaim insurance cards. Cashless treatment is available.

Q5. How can I donate to MRS?

Donations are accepted via bank transfer, cheque or in person. All donations are tax-exempt under Section 80G and eligible under CSR.
