Marwari Relief Society

Marwari Relief Society was established in 1913 as a voluntary, non-profit charitable organisation with an unwavering mission — to serve suffering humanity without discrimination of caste, creed, colour, religion or financial status. Over the past century, MRS has stood beside India during its darkest hours — floods in Assam, earthquakes in Monghyr, droughts in Rajasthan, the Indo-China war, communal riots and epidemic outbreaks. Our selfless social workers and dedicated medical teams have always been among the first to reach the spot and render life-saving aid and rehabilitation services.

Luminaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Pandit Nehru, Mother Teresa, Indira Gandhi and Jayaprakash Narayan have visited, acknowledged and praised our humanitarian work through the decades. Their recognition stands as a proud testament to the spirit and sincerity of every individual associated with MRS.

Today, MRS has grown into a full-fledged multi-speciality hospital in the heart of Kolkata with a branch in Raniganj, Paschim Bardhaman. Serving thousands of patients every month, we continue our century-old legacy of healing, hope and selfless service — ensuring that quality healthcare remains within reach of every individual, regardless of their ability to pay.

Our Vision

To provide complete, compassionate and affordable healthcare to the underprivileged and financially weaker sections of society — without discrimination. We are committed to ensuring that no patient is ever denied quality medical treatment simply because they cannot afford it.

Our Mission

To evolve into a centre of excellence in healthcare that reaches every corner of society — from the heart of Kolkata to the remotest rural village. We envision a future where a new Speciality Hospital, regular community medical camps and expanded rural outreach programmes make quality healthcare truly accessible to all who need it.
